A brand new series of talks, Carnegie Conversations ‘Ideas For A Better Australia’, is coming to the Sydney Opera House on Sunday, 3 May, which will open up discussion on ideas about Australia and where we are heading as a nation.
We don’t tend to post serious topics, but everyone now and then we come across something that is as entertaining as it is educational with the added bonus of some social benefit. Which is what the Carnegie Conversations is.
Presented as a series of talks that look at contemporary issues in Australia, Carnegie Conversations ‘Ideas For A Better Australia ‘seek out those new ideas that could bring about real change. There will be 5 sessions over the course of the day focusing on intergenerational issues, free speech, doing good, community and politics. It’s a chance to hear some great voices and their definitive ideas for what could shape Australia’s future thinking.
Some of those people speaking at the event include Chris Berg and Julian Burnside on Freedom of Speech; Tony Windsor, Ann Sherry and writer Benjamin Law on current politics; and Peter Singer on poverty and our responsibility towards the vulnerable.
Seats will be limited, and there are day packages available. Don’t miss your chance to engage in some fascinating discussions on the state of Australian affairs and policies.
Carnegie Conversations at the Sydney Opera House will take place on Sunday, May 3.
