Broadsheet Restaurant

Oct 4, 2016  ·  3 min read

When you want a bring a city like Sydney together there are a few important ingredients that you’ll want to throw into the mix to ensure a gathering like no other. Offering gelato is a sure fire way to get people moving to where you want them, throw a line in front of it and they’ll appear – the longer the better.

Though if you really want to connect with the people, gelato might not cut it. Instead, assemble the best coffee roasters, next to the best in town for producing breakfast, lunch and dinner and you have yourself a restaurant that you’ll never want to disappear.

This is exactly what the fine team at Broadsheet are about to open in Danks Street, Waterloo this week. Broadsheet Restaurant will open on October 6 for a two-month residency, offering an all-day eatery, serving breakfast through to dinner with a menu collaborated some top names around Sydney.

Taking over the newly vacant spot on the corner of Danks and Young streets, in Waterloo, Broadsheet Restaurant will be open from 8am to midnight, Thursday to Sunday.

The interior has been designed by the creative team at Foolscap Studios and Relative (the same team that brought NOMA Sydney to life), who have given the space a distinctive Sydney vibe using local designers to provide the finest furnishings.

Founder of Broadsheet and all-round legend, Nick Shelton along with a creative team have put in the hard yards, assembling a unique team of restaurants to craft something truly Sydney. A number of venues, 22 to be exact, have helped create a menu using all their gastronomic know-how, while the team of fine chefs from Master Dining will bring it to life.

Just to cherry pick a handful of the 22 venues that have thrown their hat into the Broadsheet ring, lend me your ears eyes.

A QT Bondi fan favourite, Porch and Parlour from North Bondi will be on hand, alongside the boys from Fratelli Fresh and Pinbone – just that partnership alone is enough to make you hungry. Bolstering the lineup, the newly crowned best new restaurant (Good Food Guide) and best restaurant of the year (TimeOut Sydney), Hubert will also be a part of the palatable pop-up.

Keep your ear close to Broadsheet for announcements on events and ticketed chef dinners to take place during the two-month pop-up.

Broadsheet Restaurant is open from Thursday to Sunday, 8am to Midnight – bookings and walk-ins available.
