Have you ever just wanted to relinquish all societal standards and quit being a slave to the status-quo? To just cut loose and do whatever the hell is on your mind? Maybe even change your name to include a sensational profanity?
If you feel like you’re not quite on that level, never fear; someone else has done it and you can join her for the journey of a creative expedition of self.
Amanda MacKinnon Gaiman Palmer, or sometimes known as Amanda f*cking Palmer. I’m sure you can fill in the blanks.
Having built a career and a livelihood on being unapologetically herself, staying true to every whim and desire that may take her fancy. You now have the opportunity to join her for a creatively poignant evening in our very own Sydney Opera House on Saturday, January 21 – GRAB TICKETSÂ HEREÂ .
Amanda’s favourite form of expression is through her music, so there will be a whole lot of that to go around, described as the Queen of punk cabaret. AP will be showcasing performances spanning her involvement with Dresden Dolls, solo-fan specials and all new material.
The last time Amanda performed at the Opera House she did so to a sold-out crowd, so this evening is a special one.
She will, of course, do what she does best, and perform the proverbial socks off the stage, but she will also interweave anecdotes from her life well-lived.
Amanda has taken time out with personal tragedy with deaths of beloved friends and family, and triumph, in the shape of her baby boy with husband Neil Gaiman (recognise the name? He’s only one of the most incredible creative writers, duh.)
Amanda is coming back to regale her adventures; to drink wine, play piano and get back to the basics of what makes her such a stunning individual.
With fearless delivery and an idea for a better world with a push for bravery, beauty and equality across the spectrum. She puts forth the inherent notion that no one needs permission to taste the magic of being nothing other than what they are.
Amanda Palmer is at the Sydney Opera House on January 21.
…if we're lucky! about to post a blog about the lovely dust-up i woke up to this morning.
