He made it. And she made it. And so did he. And her. Confused? That’s ok.
He Made She Made on Oxford Street in Darlinghurst are the latest curators of good design to open their doors in Sydney. Opened by Patrick Chambers and Laura Kepreotis in late December 2011, the He Made She Made gallery sits somewhere between a studio, a showroom, and an art space. Bringing together work that transcends the gap between art and design, they specialize in showcasing artists and designers that push the boundary of functionality and form in order to breath new life into everyday items. The space operates with a rolling theme of ongoing shows and displays that are tied to a conceptual theme, so you can always expect something new to be on show every four weeks or so.
Their most recent collection, Who Shot The Serif, looks at the typography as an influence across various areas of design. The show launched at the start of August and there are still a few weeks left to see it. The best part is that most of the works on show are for sale, so if you see something on the shelf you love don’t be surprised if you find yourself putting it on your mantelpiece at home.
