Just for the record – it still confuses us that in the movie of the same name, Bambi was in fact a boy…was a boy whose name was Bambi.
Glad we got that off our chest. In other news, Who Killed Bambi is a Queensland-based label that hunts down vintage pieces and repurposes them for modern style.
To be honest, we are kinda envious of the lifestyle of the Bambi team – long drives up and down the east coast, visiting amazing, lesser-known towns and hunting through their local op-shops for some of the best second-hand bargains you could imagine. In our minds, it’s like being in a Kerouac novel. Or maybe a William S. Burroughs ones. Just with more clothes.
As you’d guess, each item at Who Killed Bambi is hand-selected by the Bambi team, which is then later individually customised and updated, making each piece doubly unique.
The Bambi team stock their store weekly with a curated selection of one off vintage goods and new threads which means you can expect to find something new to add to your wardrobe every week.
During 2012, the Who Killed Bambi ranges were all named after the team’s favourite album. In 2013, favourite movies will be the theme, which also influence the shoots chosen for their look-books. The current collection was inspired by cult 70s film, the Warriors.
