We’ll be honest – most of us here are ravenous, blood-drenched carnivores who eat cheese like it’s about to be banned but that doesn’t mean we don’t have time for our more green-minded brethren. In fact, we admire their stance on animal rights and their contribution to our overall well-being so you can bet we will be heading down to Marrickville at the end of this month for the inaugural Vegan Festival.

Bringing together a mix of organic wines and the very best of nature’s finest, The Vegan Festival is a first of its kind for Sydney. There will be a whole range of stands providing everything from cooking needs, recipes, and fresh produce to some amazing vegan alternatives of your favourite guilty pleasures.

Plus – cooking shows! And before you think it’s all tofu and quinoa, take a look at the line up of chefs booked for the event:

Heading up the line-up with a cooking demonstration is Brooklyn vegan chef ISA MOSKOWITZ, creator of Post Punk Kitchen, best selling author of books ‘Vegan Pie In The Sky’, ‘Appetite For Reduction’ and Co-Author of ‘Veganomicon: The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook’. Isa will be visiting Australia in support of her latest book ‘Isa Does It: Amazingly Easy, Wildly Delicious Vegan Recipes for Every Day of the Week’.

TERRY HOPE ROMERO, best selling vegan co–author and author of books ‘Veganomicon’, ‘Vegan Eats World’ and ‘Vegan Latina American Recipes’. Terry will present an informative and lively cooking demonstration as well as a Q&A with the audience.

And bringing the darkness will be the BLACK METAL VEGAN CHEF, the internet cooking sensation with a unique show featuring black metal and guided vegan recipes – not one to be missed!

We know that this is not our usual ‘must see’ event but, hey, we’re thinking of your health. And besides – all food is good food.

The inaugural SYDNEY VEGAN FESTIVAL kicks off on Saturday 29 March 2014 at The Factory Theatre, Marrickville.
