August is shaping up to be a fairly packed month with some truly awesome artists touring the city. One such artist is the rather elusive Fracture, aka Mark Zito, who is performing at the Vanguard on Friday, August 8.

Known for his twisting of together of disparate musical styles, Fractures is known for his unique and rather haunting sound. Pairing infectious pop hooks with haunting narrative, Fractures has won fans and praise from his peers including Gotye and Chet Faker for his dark, alluring music.

The release of Fractures debut single ‘Twisted’ earned high critical praise reaching the #3 spot on The Hype Machine, with 205k + plays. Single ‘Cadence’ was named Song of the Week by The Guardian UK upon its release in September and has received over 100k Soundcloud streams. Fractures features the lush production and swoon-worthy vocal harmonies for which Zito is becoming renowned, with new single ‘Won’t Win’ a moody, seductive and hypnotic follow up to his previous releases

Tickets to the performance are obviously limited, so try to get in quick. Fractures is definitely an artist who is going places quick and it’s always nice to know that you liked something before they became famous…
