spaQIt’s looking to be a chilly winter but there are a few things that are keeping us hopeful for the return of summer. One is that mangoes will soon be back in season. And the second is that we will be able to wear the latest summer collection from Sara Phillips, titled ‘Unearthed’.
The theme for 2012 Spring, ‘Unearthed’, was inspired by the vast Cave of Crystals located in Mexico and the sense of whimsy comes through in the prints. They capture the natural formations found there with bursts of colours coming through, contrasting a nice selection of neutral shades. Phillips in fact used crystal specimens from the Australian Museum to create several key prints in the collection.
This is offset by the angular, asymmetrical cuts that look to resemble the shapes of crystals.
‘Unearthed’ will hit stores in early July.
