Aside from the beautiful beaches, if you ever needed a reason to jump in the car and drive up to the lovely town of Avalon on Sydney’s northern beaches the opening of Mark Tuckey Home is it.

Mark and his charming wife, Louella, are a creative powerhouse who originally hailed from Melbourne before moving to Sydney. Mark is the brains and brawn behind the chunky, wooden furnishings that are the trademark of the brand and the reason it all began; Louella – a former interior stylist at the infamous London Conran Shop – is the discerning eye that chooses all the homewares and accessories. And talk about good taste! Not only do they stock one of our own favourite ceramics brands, Mud Australia, but also textiles from the uber chic Spacecraft studios and artworks by David Bromley. Add to the list custom made surfboards so you can catch a few waves at the stunning local beaches before heading home with your car crammed full of good stuff. Mark Louella are clearly our heroes.

What we love most about Mark Tuckey Home is…it actually feels like a home. You could be forgiven grabbing a chair, pulling out a book and spending the next six hours in what you naturally assumed was your new living room.
