The fascinating, hilarious and down-right nice person Tig Notaro has confirmed that she is coming to Australia where she will perform her sell-out show, Boyish Girl Interrupted, at the Enmore Theatre on Saturday, December 13.
If you don’t know her by now through her various guests spots shows like The Sarah Silverman Program (where Sarah went gay for Tig) then you’ve missed a treat. Tig is the epitome of comedy’s ability to heal all wounds, a fact made real by her very own personal experiences of dealing with sickness, the death of her mother and aggressive breast cancer (that resulted in a double mastectomy) none of which stopped Tig from being able to find humour in life.
Tig draws from these experiences in her acts, giving the audience a surprisingly candid view into her life. Boyish Girl Interrupted is a bitter sweet mixture that hammers home the absurdity of the modern condition without taking away any of its dignity. Tig has gained support from the best in her industry, with the likes of Louis CK even stating that her act ‘a truly masterful performance’.
