In continuation with our flirtation with all things French we are heading down to the latest photographic exhibition, French Stars, at the Alliance de Françiase de Sydney on Clarence Street before it closes mid March.
A collection of images spanning three decades, the exhibition showcases a range of vintage and modern pictures of French movie stars taken by Agence France Presse photographs, celebrating the Alliance Française French Film Festival’s 25th edition.
Some of the world’s most beautiful and talented actors will be on show, including Alain Delon, Juliette Binoche, Omar Sy, Catherine Deneuve, Audrey Tautou, Jean Reno, Daniel Auteuil.
The irony of celebrity photography is that while it can be incredibly intrusive (we’re looking at you gossip mags) it can also capture those odd moments that somehow go beyond mundane interactions and become surreal. It’s a precarious bridge between being a photographer who can capture these fragile moments and simply being an invading paparazzo. This exhibition is a perfect example of the former.
The exhibition will run until March 23 at the Alliance de Françiase de Sydney located at 257 Clarence Street, Sydney.
