spaQThis admission might show the age of some of us here at QT but fashion designer, Jenny Kee, will on some level always be the Softly laundry detergent lady on the television.
However, her phoenix-like return to the fashion scene this year was a reminder of how groundbreaking a designer she truly was. And still is.
Her latest collection, ‘The Art of the Scarf’ was released at this years Mercedes-Benz Fashion week in collaboration with Romance Was Born team, Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett. The collection was part retrospective part installation that was imprinted with Kee’s signature Australiana and in particular, the waratah, a flower that Kee finds personally meaningful and has inspired her designs throughout her career.
The Art of the Scarf is primarily focused on repurposing and printing some of Kee’s most iconic designs on silk scarves. Did someone say new collector must-have? Yes, we think we did.
Jenny Kee’s website can be found here.
