Following world tours with the ARIA Award-winning Prisoner and the hit single ‘Endless Summer’, the Sydney alt-pop favourites return home to the Opera House 28-29 April to launch their anthemic new album, The Brink.

In a startling seven year journey that counts the ARIA Award-lauded, Australian Music Prize-winning debut Prisoner, tours with the Pixies and Tegan & Sara, and nearly 200 performances around the globe last year, Sydney’s own The Jezabels finally return home with their epic new album The Brink – bringing their brooding goth-pop and signature anthems for an Opera House debut of soaring, high drama romance.

Channelling a classic lineage of rock iconoclasts, Hayley Mary’s live-wire intensity, diary-deep lyrics and black-clad presence has garnered comparisons to PJ Harvey and Chrissie Hynde alike. Split through Heather Shannon’s electro-stacked synthesisers, Samuel Lockwood’s searing guitar and the hard-rock drum rolls of Nik Kaloper, The Jezabels’ blistering live reputation has culminated in a sophomore album inspired by a stadium-sized need to return to the stage – recently reaffirmed in their meteoric finale at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2014.

Following their critically acclaimed trilogy of eps, high-rise breakthroughs such as ‘Endless Summer’, ‘Mace Spray’ and ‘She’s So Hard’ and an album of the year nod from Rolling Stone, The Brink is set to reaffirm the ‘intensindie’ quartet’s place in an all-Australian invasion on foreign land. Now taking a two-night stand in the city where it all began, The Jezabels will grace the Concert Hall stage in a watershed new chapter of pure heart-on-heart rock and sweeping alt-pop perfection.
