The dulcet tones of Sally Seltmann

Mar 14, 2013  ·  2 min read

By Benjamen Judd

2012 was a good year for one of our favourite songstresses, the lovely Ms. Sally Seltmann. Not only did she spend some time doing a series of shows with Grammy Award winning artist Bon Iver, Sally also took some well-earned time out to spend camped up in her home studio to commence work on her fourth studio album as a solo artist.

Sally – whose other accomplishments include previously recording and releasing albums under the name ‘New Buffalo’ and is a member of Seeker Lover Keeper alongside Holly Throsby & Sarah Blasko – has now put together a collection of material that will go in to making up her new album, which is due for release later in 2013. Word on the grapevine is that Sally is co-producing the album with her husband Darren Seltmann (more information about the album will be revealed in the coming months).

This March Sally will be performing her first show in over 12 months at one of our most bested beloved venues in Sydney – The Vanguard. Sally will perform stripped back versions of songs from her most recent album ‘Heart That’s Pounding’, playing on either piano or acoustic guitar. She will also be previewing a number of songs that will feature on her forthcoming album. If that was not incentive enough, guests will also have the pleasure of special-guest performers, Appleonia.

Sally Seltmann will be performing at The Vanguard on Thursday, 21st March.

For more information, and to buy tickets online, head to The Leadbelly’s website (formerly “the Vanguarde”).
