spaQThis year’s Vivid Live festival has provided some truly spectacular musical events, with 3D concerts put on by Kraftwerk, avant garde Japanese digital orchestras, and now the awesome German DJ Tensnake.
In the second Terminal Projekt club night during Vivid, Germany’s house-disco and mash-up producer Tensnake (real name Marco Niemerski) will be playing a live DJ set at the Overseas Passenger Terminal down in the Rocks. The ‘Coma Cat’ producer has a diverse back catalogue including re-workings of dance-pop hits from Aloe Blacc and Friendly Fires to disco throwbacks ‘Need Your Lovin’’ and a remix of Talk Talk’s 1984 release ‘It’s My Life’. Also on the line-up is former break-dancer turned deep-house and hip-hop producer HNQO, The Revenge – who stands firmly behind his analogue house sets – plus COOP and Sam Roberts.
As a live act, Tensnake is mind-blowing to say the least, and is touring on the heels of his 2011 live shows at
Glastonbury, Bestival, Melt and We Love Space in Ibiza with more live action in 2012. Last
year he took on Miami’s Ultra Music Festival for the first time, playing alongside the likes of
Annie Mac, Simian Mobile Disco and Little Dragon, before returning to Europe to headline
Berlin’s infamous Panorama Bar.
