spaQ Staff Profile – Loic Donizeau

My name is Loic Donizeau, and I am a Barber at spaQ Sydney.   I love my job because I don’t feel like I’m working when I’m doing it, it’s an artistic thing that I’m passionate about, I’m always learning, and everyday is different.  Every guest is different and I want to bring their personality out in how they look and feel.  Barbering is steeped in tradition and in today’s society we are losing these old ways and classic style.  Men don’t get to look after themselves the way women do, so going to the barber should be an experience they enjoy and relax.  I find inspiration everywhere: in culture, history, books, TV, Music…. The music that I have in my headphones is usually more Blues, country, Rock n’ Roll or even Rockabilly.

My favourite bars in Sydney currently are the Shady Pines, The Baxters Inn, Tios and Frankies.

On my days off I really enjoy discovering Sydney and hanging out with my friends.    I also love to play music – I’m playing the harmonica.
