Sky Ferreira breaks so many molds that we’re convinced she’s an alien from outer space. Sometime muse of photo-creepster Terry Richardson, Millennial It Girl, punk chanteuse and possessor of the most perfect pout we have ever seen – Ferreira seems to exist in a world so achingly hip we can barely stand it. But hopefully some of that hipness will rub off when we head down to the Oxford Art Factory this coming Tuesday, 18 March where she will be taking to the stage in a whirl of hipster wonderfulness.

Despite touring as the opening act for that Bangerz mess, Miley Cyrus, Ferreira is by far the more talented (and together) performer and the fact that she is doing her own side-show is a hopeful hint of bigger things to come and quick.

Ferreira’s show coincides with the release of her debut album, Night Time, My Time a collection of synth-pop dance tracks that evolved from some awesome collaborations including the one and only Shirley Manson.

Despite being a statistical flop upon its initial release in 2011, thankfully people have woken up to themselves in the space of two years. With several magazines calling it the album of 2013 we’re glad to see that the rest of the world has caught up with our obsession with the tiny pop-art creature.

Sky Ferreira will be playing at the Oxford Art Factory on Oxford Street this coming Tuesday, 18 March. Doors open at 8pm.
