A rose by any other name… would probably go by Elizabeth. Elizabeth Rose. And she would make amazing music that would make us want to dance slowly and rather interpretively like we were in a Kate Bush music video and she would also be playing at the Oxford Art Factory on Saturday, April 5.
After making most of Australia love her with her debut EP, Crystallise, Sydney-based artist Ms. Elizabeth Rose has released her second collection of hypnotic tracks to lull and woo you into a false sense of security before she breaks your soul with her voice.
Her self-titled album, Elizabeth Rose, is like stepping back in time to the good old days of Aaliyah, Brandy (pre car crash) and even some M.I.A. Add to that some synth-pop and BAM – winning us over with every beat and lyric-shift.
Accompanying Rose will be beat-making rhyme-spitting Blue Mountains duo Fishing who are soon to announce details of their
debut album release and will treat crowds to a sneak peek at their new tunes on the Elizabeth
Rose tour. The duo have shared stages with SBTRKT, Cloud Control and Jonathon Boulet,
and performed shows around the globe.
Elizabeth Rose gives us hopes for the music industry in a time when there are subliminally racist songs about Chinese food and teenagers don’t know who Nirvana are.
