Thank you Splendour in the Grass for one of the best line-ups this year. And double thank you for all the accompanying side shows that are happening because of you. Like the Queen of Cheek herself, Lily Allen, who is playing at the Hordern Pavilion Friday, July 25.

As much as we love Lily Allen for her music, sometimes we think we love her even more for her biting sarcasm and rapier wit that is more often than not subtly directly at the industry she’s involved in. Or not so subtly, as is the case with her latest album, Sheezus, an obvious nod (read: stab) at the every increasing human ego that is Kanye West.

Debuting at number one in the UK, and four here on the Australian charts, Sheezus is as pop-y and yet politically accurate as you would expect from someone who managed to cause a Parliamentary protest against her own Prime Minister, with its lead single Hard Out Here slamming the charts the moment it was released.

A word of warning – Allen has announced that the album to come after this will be her last…which potentially means that this could be the last chance you get to see her perform live here in Australia. So get your chubby fingers tapping and them dem tickets!

Lily Allen will perform at the Hordern Pavilion Friday, July 25.
