The creation of Page Thirty Three reads like a love story. A love of design, a love of art, a love of creativity and a love of good hair (true story). This story began back in 2008, when founders Bianca Riggio and Ryan Hanrahan first met. It wasn’t until a year later when their paths crossed again that they realised that something had to be done with all their amazing ideas and thus, Page Thirty Three was born.
A lifestyle brand that turns household objects into functional art pieces, Page Thirty Three is a concept as much as it is an object. Taking inspiration from everything including trees, weeds, youth culture and the streets, the brand places a huge level of importance on locality. This means that wherever possible, all items are made in Australia and all materials are recycled and sustainable and even re-using existing materials to keep that carbon footprint to a minimum. This is also translated into their other work as creative directors, styling and holistic branding. There is no end to what they cannot do!
One of their latest pieces, and quickly becoming their most iconic, is the Essential Oil Burner. Based upon the classic Bunsen burner from science class, the piece is made from Tasmanian Oak and metals that have been brushed for a worn effect. The burner also comes with a natural beeswax candle and 5ml of Australian grown lavender to get you started. Another little must have that we have our eyes on is the smoking bank – an incense burner made from recycled aluminium that will look oh so amazing on our desk, just like a miniature haunted house!
