Not Another Ceramic Candle Stick

How fantastic is that title? In full transparency, we admit that we didn’t come up with it. But we sure did love it when we read it.

Not Another Ceramic Candle Stick is exactly that – a multi-purpose (not only) candleholder. Coming in a set of three from little to bigger to biggest, the Not Another Ceramic Candle Stick was designed by French artisan, Marie Dessuant for homewares label Another Country.

The way this little bit of goodness works is the top bit, where the candle sits, comes off and stands independently leaving you with a wooden cup to store pens, coins, or whatever else smacks your whimsy. They are a perfect hiding place too, because unless you know what is underneath, no one would think to check the hollow candle holder…that’s so the answer to some B-grade murder mystery film we watched on late night television last week.

The designer, Marie, is bit of French perfection. After graduating from the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg in product design (MA). She wrote a thesis about ‘Wandering in Daily Life’ and designed a collection entitled ‘Objets Vagues’. She then worked in Shanghai, collaborating with studios like Naço architecture and EXH. Marie sounds like someone we would want to have over for raspberry tea.
