We hope you haven’t used up all your sick days because you’re going to need them this month. UK electro band, Metronomy, have confirmed they will be playing at the Metro Theatre on Monday and Tuesday 28-29 July which means that you can pretty much write the rest of the week off in joy.
Having unofficially been knocking about the boards since 1999 (we know, right?) Metronomy has evolved into a fusion of electro pop music that defies conventional sounds in both genres. A mixture of instruments and instrumental techniques has kept the group difficult to pigeon hole, ranging from synthpop, indie and even new wave.
Their latest album, Love Letters, continues on the tradition of blending elements from various genres. Released in March this year, Love Letters has become the groups best performing album to date., adding new depth to the band’s sound with some reviewers calling rawer and more inclined towards rock and soul influences.
If you missed tickets to see these guys at Splendour in the Grass (for which we feel so much sorrow for you, we really do) then don’t miss out on seeing them intimate and live at The Metro!
Metronomy will perform at the Metro Theatre on George Street Monday and Tuesday, 28-29 July.
