So Christmas might be a while away but that is not going to stop us from getting on the internet or walking in to our favourite stores and making a list several pages long of the things that we want. One of those wants is anything made by Andrea Smith.

Andrea is a Sydney-based illustrator who also dabbles in graphics and jewellery design. A little whimsical, Andrea’s style is one that resembles illustrations from old, Russian fairy tales and Art Nouveau periods. Using laser woodcuts for her jewellery, gocco prints and collage for her artworks, her work emphasises a combination of simple beauty and playful aesthetics. Andrea has already built up quite a name for herself in the publishing industry, and you may have seen some of her work shown in Curvy and Nylon magazines. But it was her jewellery and accessories we spotted at Follow Store that caught our eyes.

The wood-cut brooches of fox heads and tiny messenger birds are perfect just-because gifts and cost around $30. Andrea also has a series of various prints available that range from $30 to $40 each and fit into your standard frames.
