We’re pretty excited about the fact we’re getting to see 90s dream, TLC, live at the Enmore on Friday June 6 but we do have some feels for all those who can’t make it because, well, if you tick any of the following it’s probs best you stay home. So if you a) can’t get no love from us; b) if you hang out the passenger side of your best friend’s car; and c) if you’ve ever tried to holla at us – you ain’t getting in. Ladies rules, sorry.
But seriously, TLC have been responsible for some of the most iconic music of the 90s – The Shoop song (which is the only song that Ellen DeGeneres knows by heart) Let’s Talk About Sex; Unpretty; and never ever ever forget the Giddy Up: The Brick Track (which they did with LL Cool J and is the most undervalued track ever even if we do say so ourselves). This concert will be like reliving the best days of your youth when you taped songs off the radio (or that magical day you bought your first Discman) just to walk around the local shopping centre and hang out.
What we are most excited about, and this excitement is a double-edged sword as it does reflect on the tragic death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez, is the use of video projection of Lopez to complete the trio with two remaining members, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins.
If there was ever a reason to reach back in to your closet and brush the dust off those striped denims, mid-riffs and oversized clothes that you kept hoping they would come back in fashion – now is the time.
TLC will be performing at the Enmore Theatre on Friday, June 6.
