David Jones, that ol’ dame of frocks, socks and jocks, is turning the grand age of 175 this year and as part of the celebrations, the iconic Elizabeth Street store will be the host of an interactive exhibition that looks back at the glory days of shopping.

With a rich history in design, fashion and architecture, the David Jones 175 Years Exhibition includes over 100 images and 75 artefacts recalling landmark events in the store’s history.

To celebrate this special moment, David Jones are marking the occasion with a series of first-ever and one-of-a-kind initiatives including the launch of David Jones 175 Years – The Book.

David Jones has collaborated with their favourite Australian designers to create an exclusive range of limited edition products to commemorate our 175th anniversary.

A select range of one-of-a-kind pieces is also available from international designers, featuring 175th anniversary embellishments on their signature products.

Renaissance woman Florence Broadhurst will also feature in the 175 artefacts on display, along with Queen Elizabeth II’s 1954 visit and Christian Dior’s 1947 Fashion Show.
