So we have news that is going to make you love us more than an open bar (we kid, you already do!). But seriously, this is good – chanteuse Kimbra and our homegirl Janelle Monáe have joined forces like some kind of pop Voltron and are performing at Sydney Opera House this coming Monday May 19. Damn, they’re some talented women right there.
An idea that has been in the pipeline since the pair met in a bar back in 2013, the Golden Electric Tour is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see two of the most original and talented artists in pop today at the same time. Both singers will have their own sets, but will also come together for shared stage time just to make sure that you can’t even, are literally dying and, by the end, are done.
The concert had previously been penned to play at the Hordern Pavilion but the move to the Opera House Concert Hall, we think, is a much more suitable atmosphere and a better arena to showcase the powerful vocal talents of both women. Plus, it’s only up the road from us so we don’t have to walk very far at the end of the night!
Janelle Monáe and Kimbra’s Golden Electric Tour is on at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, Monday May 19.
