We know our priorities. Someone tried to remind us that a friend of ours was getting married this month (Thursday, April 24 to be very precise) and we had to gently decline because, hello, India Arie and Joss Stone were performing at the Enmore Theatre that very same night! We couldn’t believe the selfishness, holding a wedding on a night we already had tickets for…sheesh.

So – Indie Arie and Joss Stone are indeed performing at the Enmore Theatre on Thursday, April 24 and we are absolutely not missing this for the world. It has been 8 years since Denver-born India Arie last graced our Australian shores, during which she has been nominated for a massive 21 Grammy Awards, won four, and has sold over 10 million albums.

This time she returns, after a self-imposed four-year hiatus, with a new album ‘SongVersation’. The album, like the three before it, debuted in the Top Ten on the Billboard Album Chart and is a compelling snapshot of her hard-won breakthrough to simultaneous personal and artistic growth. Highly-acclaimed, ‘SongVersation’ reached #5 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, almost copying her previous release, which held down the coveted #1 spot and giving Motown its first #1 album in 33 years !!
