We think that we can safely say that Pete Doherty is the Keith Richards for our time. The man just simply won’t go down! Not that we are saying we want him too, far from it, but he is clearly a poster child for the hedonist lifestyle. (A lifestyle, we might add, that we do not intend to partake in anytime soon.) Aside from all this, the man is also an incredibly gifted musician and he is bringing said talents here to Sydney and will perform at the Enmore Theatre on July 28.
Touring as part of the Splendour in the Grass festival, Doherty, and his band Babyshambles, will be taking part in several side shows along the way. This will be the bands very first tour of Australia and will coincide with the release of their third studio album that will include the drumming skills of Stereophonics drummer, Jamie Morrison. This will include performing their latest single, Dr No (Sharks In the Water).
No stranger to controversy, Doherty remains a question mark for us. It will be interesting to see if he can still tap in to that raw power as a performer that he once had. Then again – Keith Richards is till dynamite on stage and considering the man has lived and done twice as much, we can probably expect Doherty to be at his riveting best.
Babyshambles will perform at the Enmore Theatre for one night only on July 28. To get your tickets to the show, head here.
