Summer truly does bring the best out in Sydney, and one of the annually awesome events it heralds is the IMB Sunset Cinemas, taking place in the Western Sydney parklands until Saturday, December 6.
Set in the natural bush amphitheatre of Lizard Log provides the perfect backdrop for the IMB Sunset Cinema and the afterdark parklands experience is one not to be missed. Lizard Log is referred to as “Nature’s Playground”, with the sounds of local wildlife, the smell of eucalyptus and fresh air as far a cry from the scents of stale popcorn, rustling chip packets and freezing air-conditioning of traditional theatres as you can get.
Then there is, of course, the movie line up and this year’s program is looking particularly delicious. Alongside classics such as Dirty Dancing are new releases Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Best of Me, Brad Pitt’s Fury and Robert Downey Jr’s The Judge.
If you haven’t experienced Western Sydney Parklands, or even if you have, here is your best excuse to come and play. For full program details, ticket purchase and location map, head to their website.
