That was the tackiest headline ever we know that but, hey, whatevs because this is the last chance you will have to get your feet in to some skates and go ice skating down at World Square.
Sydney is amazing in many ways but we do lament the lack of iconic winter shit that other famous cities get to experience. Like snow. Snow is the bomb. And with that snow comes frozen lakes and rivers where you can slide and skate on. But that’s ok, because we are really industrial and just make our own.
This pop-up skate rink is super cheap and easy to get to. For ten bucks you can spend the best 45 minutes of your life gliding over some frozen water in the middle of the city. The rink is open until 9pm so you can still have your meetings and do some shopping before you decide to become the next Michelle Kwan or Tonya Harding (just without the knee-busting obviously). Fun fact! Just nearby serves some of the best hot chocolate in the city so once you’re done on the ice, head over to Oliver Brown and snag yourself some hot sweetness.
World Square is located on George Street, just near the cinemas. The pop up ice-skating rink is now on until Sunday July 14.
