If we had to create a list of requirements we think is needed for a rock band to be successful, at the top of that list would be a tattooable logo. Yep, that’s right – before the music, before the talent and live presence and general ability to make girls throw their knickers on the stage during concerts. And the progenitors of horror punk rock, The Misfits, have the ultimate band tattoo. So we are going to get one, maybe, before their concert on Saturday January 18 at the Factory Theatre in Marrickville.
Misfits have had a major influence on many different bands over the years both in image and music. A testament to this is that they been covered by Metallica, Guns ‘N Roses, My Chemical Romance, NOFX, Cradle Of Filth, Sick Of It All, AFI and The Alkaline Trio to name a few.
Misfits need to be seen live to be truly appreciated as the band gives it 110% from start to finish with unbridled energy and every drop of their blood, sweat and tears is left on the stage leaving many of their contemporaries looking like a bunch of amateurs. Their set list is chock full of graveyard classics – Die, Die My Darling, Attitude, Last Caress, Where Eagles Dare, Skulls, Mommy Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight?, Astro Zombies, Hybrid Moments.
This is a night to bust out the leather, the rubber, the PVC, the studs and the whips and make your way in to the deep dark dungeon of the inner west so you can relive your musical nightmares. To get your tickets to see the Misfits live at the Factory Theatre, head here.
