There is a general consensus in the QT offices about what country we think is the most fun when it comes to fashion. Hands down, it was Japan. And in particular, the region of Harajuku just on the outskirts of Tokyo.

The reasons we would choose are most probably pretty obvious – it’s colourful, it’s fun and it’s the kind of fashion-extravagant place that you could get away with wearing a shower curtain down the street and not even get a second glance. What’s not to love?

Which is why we also love Melbourne based store, Pet Shop Girls. Created to try and capture some of this stylish exuberance and bring it to Australian shores, the Pet Shop Girls stock some of the coolest Japanese street labels available. And everything is brightly coloured.

Mercibeaucoup, Frapbois and Tsumori Chisato are some of the amazing brands you’ll find both instore and online. At the moment, they only stock women’s clothing and accessories (we know, it kills us too) but that’s ok. It’s still amazing.
