Find yourself looking for things to do on a Wednesday evening that involve expanding your cultural horizons? Why not head down to The Art Gallery of New South Wales for their Art After Hours.
With a new program released each week, guests can be treated to a range of activities such as live performances, tours through the current and new exhibitions and talks from artists and academics. Some of the things you can expect this month are speeches from Emily McDaniel from the Biennale of Sydney; a free drop-in kite-making workshop, live music performances of contemporary Afghan beats and a pop-up tea bar, there are plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself and discover Afghan culture. Hear about the precious place of jewellery through the ages from collector, designer and author Claudia Chan Shaw and jeweller extraordinaire Anne Schofield.
The particulars of the night kick off at 5pm and the doors close at 10pm. This is a great way to experience one of the most beautiful galleries in Australia in an evening setting and engage with the art in a way you normally wouldn’t be able to.
Art After Hours is operating throughout April, every Wednesday evening from 5pm at The Art Gallery of New South Wales.
