A NIGHT OF HORROR AT THE OXFORD ART FACTORY

Jan 29, 2014  ·  2 min read

By Benjamen Judd

Melbourne boys, Miami Horror, are coming back to Sydney for a one night performance at the Oxford Art Factory in Darlinghurst and we’re pretty pumped that this year is turning out so awesome so soon.

Since busting on to the Australian music scene back in 2009 with their single, ‘Sometimes’, Miami Horror have built a name for themselves as one of the key players in synth dance pop, or indietronica as the genre has subsequently been called. They have graced the stage with the likes of Lilly Allen, Simian Mobile Disco and Friendly Fires.

This time, however, it’s the Horror who will be dominating the stage. Performing Saturday, February 8 (just in time for Valentine’s Day…maybe a day or two off) the boys will performing their latest singles (and old favourites) to what will no doubt be a packed out loved-up crowd.

“So many good things to come”; a line from Miami Horror’s brand new single couldn’t speak more of the truth with their next release ‘Colours In The Sky’. Their second single drops fast on the heels of their astoundingly seductive track ‘Real Slow’, the first single from their highly anticipated forthcoming album.

Reaching new heights, Miami Horror’s – ‘Colours In The Sky’ is a bold step away from traditional Miami Horror, a lush poignant, filled-out anthem that lifts with soaring chorus’, climatic builds,sky-high synths and dreamy vocals, contributed by upcoming master song crafter, “Cleopold”. The song itself speaks of both bright futures and a nostalgic past, helping only to sketch visuals of humid summer nights, fireworks and the excitement of what’s to come, ‘Colours In The Sky’ is a stand-out hit, that only gets better with each spin – a testament that there is only more good things to come from Miami Horror.

Miami Horror will be joined by special guests Client Liason.
