Thoughtfully Sourced, Intentionally Chosen at QT Canberra, we believe sustainability can be both considered and cool, with small choices adding to something impactful. That’s why we’ve reimagined the way we source, serve, and supply our guests:

• From the Ground Up: QT Canberra’s commitment to sustainability shines through our on‑site garden produce in Capitol Bar & Grill and honey sourced directly from our rooftop hives, when available.
• Locally Sourced & Thoughtfully Chosen: Across our dining venues we champion local suppliers who share our sustainable mindset – celebrating fresh, seasonal produce and considered craftsmanship local business hero’s such as Bruny Island cheese, Moonlight Flat Oysters, Hidden Valley Truffles, Vannella Cheeses, LP’s Meats, Junee Lamb, Alto Olives and wherever possible.

We’re starting to weave our sparkly green thread through everything we do – from design to daily ops.

• Less is Better: Toothbrushes, combs and other personal essentials are available on request, reducing waste while ensuring everything you need is a call away.
• From Mini to Maxi: Single‑use bathroom amenities have been replaced with refillable Tom Dixon dispensers, delivering a luxe in‑room experience that’s thoughtfully designed, better for you, with a lighter footprint on the planet.
• Water Smarts: Low-flow taps and dual-flush toilets, which help reduce water usage each year without compromising your comfort.
• H2O on the Go: Our refillable water stations at Capitol Bar make it easy to stay hydrated, bring your water bottle and top up anytime.
• Digital by Design: Paperless check‑in, digital business cards and our in‑room digital compendium keeps everything you need at your fingertips that’s refreshingly efficient. These small, thoughtful choices in the way we operate can make a meaningful difference for our planet and community.
• EV Charging: Recharge your electric/hybrid vehicle at our on‑site EV charging stations; we have three of them.

The world’s heating up, and not in a good way. We’re committed to a greener kinda glamour; of course you’re invited. So far, we are:

• Travelling with Care: Sustainability at QT Canberra is a shared experience, and every guest can be part of it. You can make mindful choices during your stay; small actions can add to a meaningful impact. Small moments and thoughtful choices creates a lighter footprint. 
• The Towel Turnaround: Skip a towel refresh, save water, and enjoy a $10 food and drink voucher as our way of saying thanks. 
• Reduce & Recycle: Separate recyclable containers from general waste and leave your bottles aside, our housekeeping team will take care of the rest. 
• Move with Intent: Walk, bike or even scooter around Canberra’s streets. Our public transport systems are ace.
• Mindful Shopping: While travelling, choose thoughtfully and local. The POP Canberra in Braddon showcases locally made and designed Canberra products from, artisan homewares, fashion and accessories by local designers and ceramics and artworks. Avoid purchasing merchandise derived from threatened species, heritage artifacts or items of significant cultural value whilst travelling.   Even these simple, everyday choices help make your stay more sustainable — without compromising comfort or style. Together, small actions can shape a brighter, greener future. 
• A Community That Cares: True sustainability recognises people as much as place. At QT Canberra, we honour the Ngunnawal people, Traditional Custodians of this land, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Our commitment extends into the local community, supporting initiatives and organisations that make a tangible difference. 
• Purposeful Giving: Giving back is part of who we are. We have the opportunity to support community partners, directing donations to causes that are close to our hearts.
  • Karinya House – Karinya House is a Canberra‑based organisation that supports women experiencing crisis or homelessness during pregnancy and early motherhood. They provide safe accommodation, practical assistance, emotional support and pathways to long‑term stability for women and their babies.
  • RSPCA – The RSPCA works to prevent cruelty to animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need. They also advocate for animal welfare through education, inspections, policy advocacy and community programs across Australia.
  • Ronald McDonald House Charities – Ronald McDonald House Charities support families with seriously ill children by keeping them close to the care they need. They provide accommodation, programs and support services that help families stay together during medical treatment, reducing stress during an already challenging time.
• EVT donation on choice: Sustainability is more than an environmental commitment; it’s a considered balance of the planet and people. By pairing thoughtful environmental initiatives with meaningful community support, we’re shaping a holistic approach to sustainability that reflects the way we live, host, and connect stylishly. QT Canberra has made a donation to Conservation Council ACT Region.
