Remember Disco? I fall outside of the magical time of the 70’s, but from what I hear, the parties never stopped and the fashion was an average A+.

A time where judgement was put to the side and the party was the only thing that mattered.

With all that funk, soul, pop and dash of salsa, it’s easy to see why nobody wanted the party to ever stop.

Until it did.

The music scene slid away from the magic that was disco and the party that it hosted was reimagined before giving way to weird rave culutre.

Thankfully there are two types of people in this world. Disco lovers and… who cares about the others. The disco lovers are about to throw a party that Canberra will never forget.

With the legends at the Canberra Theatre Company proudly present Velvet at The Playhouse for the next two weeks – celebrating everything that glitters!

The absolutely dazzling Marcia Hines is fronting the bill with a whole cast of incredible divas and acrobatics that will sizzle and sparkle in this must-see from the Canberra Theatre Company!

With a lineup of disco, cabaret, dance, circus and the best damn soundtrack in town, Velvet will be the only party you’ll want to attend this May.

The shows begin on May 3 and run through until May 14.

A special one off after party will be taking place at Cube on May 5. Recreating all things Studio 54, the night will celebrate the best of the disco scene with special stage shows throughout the night.
