Like a fresh ocean breeze, Melbourne-based indie folk band The Paper Kites are travelling across the nation to bring sweet sweet music to your ears and one of their stops just happens to be at our local Transit Bar on Saturday, May 31.
The five-piece-and-former-school-friends-band have had a whirlwind six months since the release of their debut album States which has seen the take already partake in a national tour, a lengthy North American tour supporting City and Colour, plus their own sold-out headlining tour of US/CAN. Despite the obvious need for some R&R the band will be back on the road again this May, visiting 11 venues across Australia, a nod to their dedication. Or madness. Either way – we’re just excited to see them.
With States debuting at #17 on the ARIA charts, The Paper Kites have clearly cemented their presence in the Australian music scene, having already built up a solid fan base off their two EPs, Woodland and Young North. Being known for creating innovative and mesmerising music videos, it’s no wonder The Paper Kites have received over 10 million YouTube views, a J Award nomination for Australian Music Video of the Year and the 27th spot in Rage’s Top 50 Music Videos of 2013 for ‘Young’.
Don’t miss your chance to see The Paper Kites preforming their old, new, and most popular songs. Tickets are expected to sell fast, so get yours now.
The Paper Kites will be performing at Transit Bar on Saturday, May 31.
