Roll up, roll up, it’s show time!

The Canberra Show is back for another year and is a glorious excuse to spend a weekend eating piles of delicious food, rollercoaster’ing upside down til you’ve got first-time-drunk headspins, and getting your greedy mits on some showbags. #nevertooyoung

This year, the show is promising to be bigger and better than any year before. And in Canberra, no one, and we mean no one, breaks a promise once it’s made. Being one of Canberra’s largest all ages event, The Royal Canberra Show has broadened over the years to reflect more on entertainment, educational stuff, exhibitions, and ensuring that there is a large and vibrant mix of “city meeting country” and “country meeting city”.

With three show days available this year, there’s a pretty big chance that you’re going to have too much fun that you’ll want to be going to each show day… any excuse to get another show bag. Sideshow Alley is where a lot of the action will be, and pre-purchase tickets are available so that you can hit the rides as soon as you arrive at the show. For those of you that are feeling sick just thinking about rollercoasters, then maybe you’ll enjoy the good ol’ family farmyard, where you can get up super close and cuddly with all the favourite animals.

If sitting down and soaking up the carnival atmosphere is your thing, then there will be plenty of seating spaces, as well as FOOD, glorious FOOD stalls that will sure to have your tastebuds melting. There’ll be a solid array of flavours to choose from, from carnie classics like dagwood dogs to the more exotic like alpaca burgers.

Pony rides, shearing displays, Canberra Milk demonstrations, sheep judging, cake decorating competitions, fashion parades… you name it, there’ll literally be something on offer for everyone.
