The Canberra District Wine Harvest Festival is set to start, taking place over two days from April 11 to April 12, and quite frankly our palettes are more than ready.
Wine is truly one of the most unique ways to experience a landscape. Capturing elements as diverse as temperature, soil type combined with the skilled hands of master winemakers, wine takes you on a journey of its local area.
So when you consider the diversity of the Canberra region, it’s no wonder that the Canberra Wine Harvest Festival is one of the most popular in the country.
The tranquil rural countryside around the ACT is home to 140 vineyards with more than 33 wineries within 35 minutes of Canberra. During the Canberra Wine Harvest Festival, you will get the chance to visit and taste some of the richest and delicious wines in the region.
You can also learn first hand about the unique qualities that go into each harvest, with talks from various winemakers, and master the art of matching food with the perfect claret.
There will be over 20 cellar doors and cafes to choose from, so why not treat yourself to a night’s accommodation with one of our packages, which includes breakfast for two in our Capitol Bar and Grill. That way, you can make the most of your day exploring the local region after giving yourself a much-needed rest.
The Canberra District Wine Harvest Festival will take place for two days from April 11 until April 12. For a full list of wineries taking part, head to their website here.
