If you’re in the mood for some good feels, great company and even greater tunes then keep Friday, November 7 free because that is when tunesmith and bard Steve Smyth is playing at Smith’s Alternative Bookshop.
Originally from the south cast of New South Wales, Steven Smyth grew up travelling around Australia as the son of ministers. His parents built churches from scratch, and from the age of four years old, he found himself constantly surrounded by music and people making it. With this kind of free-spirited upbringing came the experience of being on stage or in an audience for most of his life.
A born troubadour, Smyth has become a fixture on the indie music scene both locally and internationally, gaining a reputation for one of Australia’s best live performers. His latest Australian tour comes literally on the heels of his return from a critically successful tour of Spain and to celebrate the release of his latest album, “Exits”.
This will be a fantastic chance to see one of Australia’s greatest live acts in one of the most intimate and best venues here in Canberra (seriously, Smyth at Smiths is basically the best thing that can happen to you this year.)
Steve Smyth will be performing at Smith’s Alternative Bookstore on Friday, November 7.
