Spilt Milk 2016

By Tarn Morrow

Music √. Food √. Art √.

This Summer on Saturday, December 3, Canberra will experience a one-day celebration of music, food and art. Presented by Kicks Entertainment, who previously presented Canberra festival Foreshore, Spilt Milk will be taking place at Commonwealth Park in the centre of Canberra. The best in artisan street food and drink, cutting edge music and experimental art and culture will be on show.

Most importantly Spilt Milk is also the Canberra leg of Flume’s world tour, the first ever full production Flume headline performance in Canberra. Canberran’s get the chance to celebrate the release of his critically acclaimed sophomore album Skin.

Australian electronic duo and hometown Canberra son’s Peking Duk will also feature.

This may be the best line-up of talent that Canberra has ever seen. The Spilt Milk 2016 line-up consists of:

Violent Soho, Sticky Fingers, Flume, Peking Duk, Hot Dub Time Machine and more.

There is more to this celebration than just the heavy hitters of music talent. Some of Australia’s best street food will feed festival goers with Gelato Messina, Sydney institution Mary’s serving up their classic burgers, Bao Stop and more.

Talented visual artists will also engage the crowds. “Each artist will transform spaces within the event during the course of the day,” says Spilt Milk spokesperson Rubi Piekalns. “The intricacy of their art-form will engage your senses and draw you into the spaces of Spilt Milk.” Artists present will be Vans The Omega, George Rose, Phibs, Voir and more to be announced.

Gates open at 11:00am on December 3rd.

QT Canberra is proud to be the Official Accommodation Partner for Spilt Milk.
