For anyone old enough to remember George then they’ll remember that hearing Katie Noonan’s voice for the first time was like touching heaven. Well, you can experience that all over again at the Street Theatre this Saturday, August 2 when the very talented Katie performs ‘Songbook’.

Classically trained in jazz and opera, Katie Noonan defies the image of a stereotypical pop artist. Combining elements from both her classical training as a vocalist and contemporary rock and roll, Noonan has developed a unique repertoire of music that has garnered her four ARIAs and a slew of accolades. This has also led her to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the industry, form several high profile bands and even be named as the Ambassador for this year’s Adelaide Fringe Festival. And it is this rich and diverse background that forms the basis for her Songbook tour across Australia, including our very our Street Theatre.

‘Songbook’ will see Katie explore material from throughout her long career including songs from George, The Captains, Elixir and her acclaimed solo album. The tour will also speak less about her career and more about her own personal life and loves, focusing on songs that reflected the more intimate moments of her life.
