One of our favourite Melbourne-based musicians, The Smith Street Band, are playing at Zierholz on Sunday November 23 as part of the national tour for their latest album, Throw Me In The River.
Since their debut album in 2011, The Smith Street Band have been gracing stages across the nation in an array of endless tours and shows and even a slew of international spots. A mainstay on Triple J playlists and a guaranteed party starter, The Smith Street Band have cemented themselves as one of the best contemporary rock/punk and indie bands in Australia today.
Throw Me In The River is the group’s most mature album to date, influenced by their experiences spent on the road touring globally over the past 18 years. Part of the sharpness could also come from the fact that Throw Me in the River was recorded in several different locations. The drums were laid down at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne and they rented a house at Forest in the Otway Ranges to do the rest.
The Smith Street Band will be performing songs from their latest album, Throw Me In The River, at Zierholz on Sunday, November 23.
