Who doesn’t love a sports hero who scrubs up well off-field? Tim Cahill may have been making all the right moves bringing the Socceroos glory during this year’s World Cup but he’s also been expanding his repertoire as the new face for British menswear label, Shoreditch London.
Shoreditch London combines the feel of the old-world of tailoring of Savile Row with the gritty and urban edginess of the Shoreditch fashion scene. Like all sartorial classics, it mixes high-end quality with a street sensibility to create a menswear range that feels as good as it looks.
With a campaign shot partially at Sydney’s State Theatre (which is, by the way, right below and part of our beautiful QT Sydney – you should really go there) by the talented Steven Chee and titled ‘Theatre of Dreams’, the latest collection was inspired by Cahill’s own career and his journey towards his third and final World Cup Series. Cahill has been intricately involved in the design process, including selecting fabrics and the choice for cuts. The result is a timeless range of classic pieces that are perfectly suited to the modern man.
Cahill’s eye for detail is on-point and the man clearly has a stylish future ahead of him post-Socceroo. Shawl-collared suit jackets with contrasting lapels in teal, Prince of Wale check and this year’s must-have three-piece suit are all present in the collection. One of the pluses of working with someone who is clearly a regular in the Members Area is the release of several styles of sports coat – definitely an overlooked item in the average man’s sartorial arsenal.
Theatre of Dreams by Shoreditch London and Tim Cahill is available in store now.
