You can’t fault retro design. There’s something about it that speaks to every generation.
I have very fond memories of my Nana’s Sunday Long Lunches, the food was overly salty yet always held that certain comfort. Mostly due to the décor that adorned the table setting.
I’m talking those brown glass plates, matched with glassware of shapes that you just don’t see in the current era.
There is something to be said about a potato salad served from a frosted glass statement bowl with a large plastic mustard yellow serving spoon.

Ahhh, they were the days.
When planned obsolesce wasn’t a tool used by mass corporations to keep us coming back for more.
Now it’s all minimalist, no stemmed wine glasses that Swedish warehouses produce at an alarming rate; and Cutlery with oddly short handles that feel far from comfortable.
Thankfully, the marketable team over at The Old Bus Depot are throwing it back to the retro era this Sunday for the aptly named Retro Depot. A Sunday market dedicated to all the goods from yesteryear.
From clothing to furniture, to those classic little knick knacks that the era was so well known for.
If you happen to have a room stocked with goodies that you want to get rid of or you are in a tizz of nostalgia from the above throwback to Sunday Lunches, be sure to check out The Old Bus Depot this weekend.
You might just walk out of there with a whole new dining set.
