A Evening With Questacon

As the cold, arctic blasts sweep over the lake and with the sun dropping behind the mountains rather early, it’s a good time to remind one’s self to keep busy this winter, so not to become a hibernating bear.

And with the nation’s capital on your doorstep, you have many a gallery to visit or an exhibition to check out, making it easy to avoid the winter bear situation.

Sometimes a stuffy gallery can be off-putting – we get that. So rein back some of that childhood wonder and check out the chilly season edition that is Questacon, the place we’ve all been to at some point, school trip or not.

With all the usual awesome science activities that you know and love Questacon for, this Winter see’s the boffins at NASA and Boeing join together and celebrate the art of space travel in Above and Beyond. With a stack of augmented reality, simulations and a look towards the future of space travel, this exhibition is a timely reminder that we are but a speck of dirt in the universe… and that space travel is an incredible human feat.

To better get involved in the Questacon action, the team are keeping the doors open until 9.00pm during July 6 – 9, so you can celebrate the magic of science a little later. With eight exhibitions, a bunch of tasty food offerings, crafts and some winter star gazing, did Questacon just throw their hat in the ring for the best late night entertainment in the capital? Maybe, hard to tell yet.
