Peter Helliar, the potato headed funny man from the Project, Rove Live and various radio shows is bringing his latest stand up routine to Canberra. The 40-year-old father of three is throwing down his latest comedic flavours, One Hot Mess at the Canberra Theatre, so if you’re partial to this chubby funster or like laughing in general, this might tickle your fancy.
His stand up comedy is similar to that of Dave Hughes – very Aussie and very relatable. If you’ve seen Helliar on TV, you’ll know he’s schtick is one of cheekiness. He’s a natural in front of people, he’s charismatic and he has the ability to bring irreverence to a news program, which isn’t an easy task.
One Hot Mess is the name of the new show. I’m not sure what he’s going for there, but with Helliar’s penchant for taking the absolute piss out of everything, it has be something good.
A note for the keen punters – the show runs for one hour and is not recommended for children as the performance contains obscene language.
Peter Helliar: One Hot Mess is at The Playhouse, Canberra Theatre Centre, London Circuit June 3-4, 2016.
