Palestinian and Emirates British Film Festivals at Palace Cinemas

While some of us are still brushing the popcorn off our pants from the latest instalment of the annual Canberra Film Festival, dedicated others are preparing for even more celluloid fun with both the Palestinian Film Festival AND the Emirates British Film Festival returns to the Palace Cinemas at NewActon Nishi.

Starting on November 6 and running until November 23, the Emirates British Film Festival brings a selection of the best in contemporary British cinema. With a mix of wildly entertaining comedies, cinematic adaptations, first-time features, and award-winning titles, this year’s program will showcase the best and brightest Brit talent with an exceptional program of 15 brand new films plus the top picks of British “Swinging Sixties” cinema in a specially curated section Six from the 60s.

Kicking off the following day, Friday November 7, is the Palestinian Film Festival, which will run until Friday November 9. As with previous Palestinian film festivals, this year’s festival guarantees to surprise and delight as well as inform and challenge. Showcasing the very best of Palestinian cinema from around the globe, the festival presents an exciting opportunity to see and feel the energy, diversity and creativity of Palestine through film.
