Our fave Canberra Cafes.

Močan and Green Grout

Močan and Green Grout is an ethical cafe and bike maker that’s as much an art and design experience as a place to enjoy good coffee and food. They serve fair trade coffee, source their produce from local farmers, and grow herbs in the planter at their front door.

1/19 Marcus Clarke Street, Canberra City

Open Daily from 8am

Cream

In a huge, open-plan block on the corner of Bunda and Genge Streets, Cream is an integral part of CBD life – offering early-morning take-away coffee, through to breakfast, lunch, dinner, functions and after-work drinks and tapas.

Bunda Street, Canberra City

Open Daily from 8am – Late

Gus’s Cafe

Located along Bunda Street, opposite Canberra Centre’s North Quarter, Gus’s Cafe is undoubtable a Canberra institution. With al fresco dining always the focus, Gus’s Café still offers some of the best coffee in the Capital, scrumptious light meals and hearty favourites. The team also make fresh cakes, pastries and tarts.

Shop 8, Garema Arcade, Bunda Street, Canberra City

Open Daily from 7.30am – Late

Koko Black

Koko Black captures the authentic and timeless qualities inherent to the art of fine European chocolate making. Through its fine handcrafted chocolates, luxurious surrounds and superlative service – Koko Black offers moments of indulgence far beyond the everyday.

Bunda Street, Canberra City

Lonsdale Street Roasters

Bikes and coffee. Why? Who knows, who cares. Lonsdale Street Roasters (or LSR as it is known) meshes this duo of seemingly random objects.

LSR serve coffee, as they are predominantly a coffee roaster. But they do have a smattering of breakfast, cakes and sandwiches with fashionable fillings (slow roasted pork with chipotle, anyone?). It’s order-and-pay-at-the-counter. If there’s no room inside, perch yourself on a milk crate outside.

3/7 Lonsdale Street, Braddon

Open Monday to Saturday from 6.30am.

Telephone: (02) 6156 0975

The Elk and Pea

A place to have a satisfying breakfast, grab a take-away coffee, meet friends for a burger with a beer, share dishes of Central American flare, or sip a cheeky Martini over a good book.

In the heart of the bustling Braddon precinct, we aim to provide a casual and relaxed venue for dining with friends and family.

21 Lonsdale Street, Braddon

Open Daily from 8am

Telephone: (02) 6162 0222
