The security guards over at the National Museum of Australia are going to let you in a couple of late night secrets. When the sun goes down over the capital, the guards tell a tale that the exhibits come to life and take over the entire museum due to a gold Egyptian script in the Pharaoh exhibition. I’m not sure if that’s a true story, I saw a couple of documentaries about it on YouTube though. So I tend to believe the NMA guards, they have no reason to peddle lies out to the questioning public.
True or not, the good people at The National Museum of Australia are opening up the museum of after hours, welcoming you into the exhibitions that will be taking you through the Origins of the human race.
Exhibits include:
Medieval swordsmen from the Dark Ages.
West African drum circles with Rhythm Connect
Indiana Jones inspired archaeological dig
Ancient Japanese Kendo and Kuroyamakai martial arts
The energy of and dance from the belles of BollywoodNow all those sound exciting, though when you pair that with it with a pop-up bar, serving a list of top goods, the idea of dressing up as your favourite historical costume seems to highlight the night.
That would be true, if only it wasn’t QT Canberra hosting the after-party. That’s right; after you have explored the centuries of history, make your way to Lucky’s Speakeasy for the exclusive party.
To book tickets, which we urge to, or for more information – head over to the National Museum of Australia HERE.
Night at the Museum: Origins is on November 11 at the National Museum of Australia.
